OnePlus Open: First foldable confirmed by phone company that never settles

OnePlus fans, grab something so that you won’t fall off and hurt yourself! The brand has finally announced its first foldable smartphone. The company tries to steal the charm of Samsung Galaxy Unpacked 2023 event where it launched two latest generation foldable smartphones, the Galaxy Z Flip 5 and Galaxy Z Fold 5. OnePlus tweeted “OPEN when others FOLD”, which confirms the name of the smartphone, OnePlus Open.

The OnePlus Open was previously confirmed by renders leaked by Smartprix in collaboration with Onleaks. GSMarena recently leaked the renders of Oppo Find N3, another foldable smartphone which could launch soon exclusively in China. Tipsters are suggesting that the OnePlus Open could be the rebranded version of Oppo Find N3. So the Chinese market will get Oppo Find N3 and the rest of the world will get the OnePlus Open.

OnePlus has not come up with specification of the Open yet. But thanks to leaks and rumours, we can get the idea from there.

The OnePlus Open is expected to be equipped with a 6.3-inch cover AMOLED display which is backed with the FHD+ resolution. The display will reportedly support up to 120Hz refresh rate. There might be a punch-hole cutout on the cover screen, which will house a 20-megapixel selfie shooter. The main display could be a 7.8-inch LTPO AMOLED display, backed with 1900 X 2100 pixels. This will also come with a 120Hz refresh rate, according to the leaks. The unfolded display is also rumoured to boast a selfie camera of 32-megapixel.

Talking about the performance, the OnePlus Open is expected to feature the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor which will be paired with up to 16GB RAM and 512GB storage. A 4800mAh battery is expected in the OnePlus Open along with a 67-watt fast charging support.

OnePlus Open is also expected to follow the camera configuration of OnePlus 11 except the telephoto sensor. It might have a 50-megapixel primary camera along with a 64-megapixel telephoto sensor and a 48-megapixel ultra-wide lens.

The OnePlus Open looks like a power-packed foldable smartphone. However, if compared to Galaxy Z Fold 5, the Open has powerful cameras. Although, we should note that these specs are totally based on rumours. Stay tuned for more information!

PS5 unboxing videos show how huge the console is

Well… besides the console itself (and the manuals), you get: DualSense controller USB Type-C charging cable for the controller HDMI 2.1 cable Power cable for the console (no bulky adapter/box) Plastic stand Now the plastic stand is used if you place the console on its side. As there is no flat surface on either side of the console, the stand will ensure that it remains still. But you can also place it when propping up the console vertically. However, it does seem like the PS5 can stand on its own vertically if need be. IGN’s unboxing video gives you a good idea of how to place the stand. All of the unboxing videos mention the size of the console because it is pr...
