Google Pixel roadmap leaks and here is what we learn about Pixel 8 and other upcoming phones

After the wild success of the Google Pixel 7 (and the earlier success of the Google Pixel 6 lineup), it's safe to say that the company has finally hit the nail on the head. Google is working on a future Pixel lineup and has outlined plans for new smartphones in the coming years. Android Authority recently revealed these plans via a trustworthy, anonymous source.

Google Pixel 8 Google Pixel 8 updates

Android Authority shared a roadmap that revealed that the Google Pixel 8 is already in the works. The two smartphones were labelled in the roadmap via codenames - Shiba (which is presumed to be the Google Pixel 8) and Husky (which may be the Google Pixel 8 Pro). The Pixel 8 is believed to be smaller than the Pixel 7, while the Pixel 8 Pro and Pixel 7 Pro will be identical.

Moreover, we may also see the Google Pixel 7a launch in May/June of 2023, along with the Google Pixel Fold. The former may feature wireless charging and a 90Hz refresh rate. Rumours indicate that the Google Pixel Fold will be priced at $1,799. (approximately ₹65,484). Google is also working on a flip phone that may be a direct competitor to the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 4.

Google’s plans for 2024

The roadmap shows that Google is planning to launch the Google Pixel 8a in 2024 (codenamed Akita), along with the Google Pixel 9 lineup in late 2024. What’s interesting is that the Pixel 9 lineup may have two pro-level models and one regular model. The pro-level models will feature a 6.7-inch screen and a 6.3-inch screen. These smartphones may have the Tensor G4 chip.

However, it does seem like the PS5 can stand on its own vertically if need be. IGN’s unboxing video gives you a good idea of how to place the stand. All of the unboxing videos mention the size of the console because it is pr...
