Zoom will now offer users a new Live Captioning feature

Video conferencing app Zoom has begun rolling out an update that brings live captioning during video calls. These captions will be auto generated, and will also be available on Zoom Paid and Zoom Webinar accounts. While these captions are only available in English at the moment, they will soon be available in other languages too.

Without the proper accessibility tools, people with disabilities face tremendous barriers when using video communication solutions. That is why we are focused on building out a platform that is accessible to everyone," the company said in a statement.

More Zoom Updates to Make Note Of

Zoom has announced that it is bringing new updates to its whiteboard functionality. These updates will be available later this year, and are rumoured to enable more seamless, asynchronous collaborations. What’s more, the update will be available across a range of devices in order to offer a more engaging and streamlined meeting experience for everyone on the call. 

The company claims that users will be able to interact with the whiteboard the way they would do in person. Additionally, the company is also bringing its new end-to-end encryption offering to Zoom Phone.
