A petition has been filed against Twitter over non-compliance with the new Information Technology rules that went into effect on May 26, 2021. These new rules require social media Intermediaries, that host content created and shared by regular consumers. It also required them to have mechanisms to address user complaints, appoint grievance officers, and publish monthly compliance reports detailing complaints received and actions taken. Failing to do so makes social media intermediaries liable to punishment under Indian law, including criminal prosecution. ARM-based M1 Chip, the first Apple-designed SoC developed for Macs and the iPad Pro, has a security vulnerability that allows two applications to covertly exchange data between them without going through proper channels. The vulnerability was accidentally spotted by a developer, Hector Martin, while he was working on porting Linux to the M1. He says that the flaw exists at the hardware level and can not be fixed by a software update. USB Implementers Forum (USB-IF) has announced a new USB-C 240W Power Delivery standard that more than doubles the existing power capacity of standard USB ports. The existing USB PD maxes out at 100W, which is enough for most laptops and phones, but the new standard will be able to cater to more power-hungry machines like gaming laptops, printers, and large monitors.  USB-IF is calling the new standard (v2.1) as Extended Power Range (EPR) and you will understandably need new EPR labeled USB-C cables for your machine to be able to make use of the full 240W power.  “USB-IF will require the cables to bear specific icons so that end-users will be able to confirm visually that the cable supports up to 240W,” USB-IF said in the specification document as noted by CNET. WhatsApp has filed a legal case against the Government of India in Delhi High court challenging the new internet rules that require messaging services to trace the origin of messages and people credibly accused of wrongdoing. In response to MeitY’s letter, WhatsApp has now assured that it will not restrict services and features for users who do not accept its latest privacy policy. At least, not for now.  "We have responded to the Government of India's letter and assured them that the privacy of users remains our highest priority.
