Vodafone Rewards programme launched for prepaid subscribers, to offer data, calling benefits

As companies try to push people to use their products and/or services, “servicizing” has gained popularity in almost all the sectors of the country. When Jio was launched in 2016, it disrupted the telecom market in India and competitors like Vodafone went on the back foot. Since then, the the UK-based telecom operator has introduced several recharge packs and offers to retain its customer base. On similar lines, Vodafone Idea has introduced the “Vodafone Rewards” programme for its customers. Under this programme, users will get benefits on every recharge made on their number.

According to TelecomTalk, Har Recharge Pe Inaam (HRPI) under the Vodafone Rewards programme will give prepaid subscribers assured benefits like unlimited calling, extra data, cashback, caller tune, missed call intimation, and SMS benefits, on every prepaid recharge that they do. The customers will have to dial *999# or open the My Vodafone App within 72 hours of the recharge to claim the benefits of the reward. Further, there is reportedly no cap on the minimum amount of transaction, which means that no matter how small the recharge is, the customer will be eligible for the benefits. User who do multiple recharges on a single number will also be eligible for getting rewards on every recharge.

Vodafone Idea’s programme is different from the #AirtelThanks customer rewards programme. While Vodafone is offering benefits on all recharges, Airtel offers benfits on the basis of subscriber category. Recently, Bharti Airtel announced that it had extended the Airtel Thanks rewards programme to its ‘V-Fiber’ home broadband customers. As a part of the refreshed Airtel Thanks programme, all customers on Airtel ‘V-Fiber’ home broadband plans of Rs 1,099 and above will now get several benefits, which include a three-month subscription to Netflix, one-year Amazon Prime membership with online shopping benefits and access to premium content from ZEE5 and Airtel TV. The benefits will be available depending upon the plans that the customers have subscribed to.
